About Charmaine

Joining Blue Water: I joined Blue Water in May 2025 as a Loan Technician and am currently transitioning into the Analyst role. I’m excited to continue growing within the company and the mortgage industry, with plans to obtain my NMLS license in the near future. I’m passionate about learning, developing my skills, and contributing to the team as I advance in my career. I especially enjoy helping guide customers through the loan process, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

College/ Background: I earned my degree in Communications from the University of New Hampshire, which has helped shape my strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior to joining Blue Water, I worked as a Funding Manager II at First Citizens Bank, where I gained valuable experience in loan operations and client service.

Interests & Favorite Activities: I love spending time outdoors—especially soaking up the sun while swimming, hiking, or gardening. I’ve recently rekindled my love for pottery and enjoy getting creative on the wheel. In my free time, you’ll usually find me taking photos, enjoying live music or stand-up comedy, traveling to new places, or spending time with family and friends. Growing up, I was heavily involved in school and community theater, and I also spent time in the local film scene—acting, working behind the scenes, and even writing a short film.

Family pets: at home I have 2 cats who keep life entertaining.  Althea is my dainty intelligent princess who is a skilled hunter, and I swear has mastered mind control (at least over me).  The kitten Ryder is a confident, strong goofball who can eat his dinner and his sisters in under a minute if you’re not looking and will shred any cardboard box or piece of paper in his path.

Loan Officer FAQs

What does a mortgage loan officer do?

To find the best mortgage lenders in NH, compare a few options rather than just going with the first one you find. Look at customer reviews, ask about fees and make sure they understand the local New Hampshire market. The best mortgage lender for you is one who communicates clearly, offers competitive options and makes you feel confident throughout the process.

How does a loan officer help you through the home buying process?

What credit score you need for housing in NH depends on the type of loan you’re applying for. Many conventional loans require a score of 620 or higher, while some government-backed programs may allow lower scores. If you’re unsure where you stand, it’s worth having a conversation with a loan officer.

When should you connect with a loan officer?

There’s no one bank that’s easiest to get a mortgage with. Approval depends on your credit, income, debt and overall financial picture. It’s important to focus on finding a lender who takes the time to understand your situation and match you with the right loan program.

What’s the benefit of working with a local loan officer?

You should work with a local NH mortgage lender because they will understand the state’s market conditions, property values and lending programs. That local insight can make the process smoother and help you avoid surprises during your home-buying journey.
