October 31, 2018, (HAMPTON, NH) — Blue Water Mortgage Corporation, a mortgage broker serving Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Florida, is honored to sponsor this year’s Seacoast Board of Realtors’ Twilight on the Terrace Gala and Installation. The fundraising event will take place Thursday, November 8, at the Portsmouth Country Club from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will support New Generation and the Lori Breard-Weeden Scholarship Fund.

New Generation is a shelter for homeless pregnant women and their children, and is this year’s Seacoast Board of Realtors Charity of Choice. The shelter is located in Greenland, NH, and provides housing, food, life-skills coaching, transitional housing and aftercare for women in need.

“This year’s Charity of Choice is an incredible local organization,” said Roger Odoardi, licensed mortgage broker and partner at Blue Water. “New Generation is responsible for changing many women’s lives and we hope to raise as much money possible to support them.”

The Lori Breard-Weeden Scholarship Fund was established in January of 2011. Lori was a beloved REALTOR® and an integral part of both the Seacoast community and The Seacoast Board of Realtors. She served on the Board of Directors, spent time as Treasurer and Vice President and also chaired the Finance Committee.

With her passion for continuing education and professionalism for local real estate agents, Lori introduced various educational opportunities to members of The Seacoast Board of Realtors. This annual scholarship was created to honor Lori’s memory and her commitment to both education and The Seacoast Board of Realtors.

“It’s incredible to see Lori’s passion for education continue through this annual scholarship,” said Jason Caruso, director of operations and loan officer at Blue Water. “Scholarships can be life-changing for students, and we couldn’t be more excited to help support the next generation.”

Every year, the scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from a Rockingham County high school. To qualify for the scholarship, seniors must be:

  • Accepted to an accredited post-graduate program
  • Motivated to learn
  • Involved with the community
  • Sponsored by a local REALTOR® or a REALTOR® affiliate

Throughout the year, The Community Service Committee is dedicated to raising money to contribute to the year’s Charity of Choice and the scholarship through raffles, events and other fundraisers. Last year, $21,092 was raised for Gather, a food pantry in Portsmouth, NH, and the scholarship fund.
